This project involved creating a series of cement retaining walls that followed the natural slope and curves of the hillside and replaced an older railroad tie retaining wall. We worked with the client to design and build a backyard landscape that made a previously unusable space into a beautiful garden and patio.
Bear Landscaping & Paver provided drawings as well as marked out the design on the hillside for review before starting the excavation. We removed all debris from the yard. We also designed and installed all drainage piping from the downspouts at the top of the yard to the bottom, as well as the installed sleeves for irrigation and electrical.
Bear Landscaping & Paver engineered a series of cement retaining walls that were reinforced with rebar and designed to be long lasting.
Once the trenches, drainage, forms, piers and rebar were all in place, the concrete was poured and expertly formed.
Bear Landscaping and Paver added French Drains with drain rock and piping along the inside of the longer retaining walls. Drainage from the downspouts down the hill was also completed.
The retaining walls made the hillside stable, usable, and beautiful. Neighbors stopped by to compliment the work. And the homeowners were delighted with the results.
A beautiful blend of flagstone and gravel pathways with metal edging make this backyard a magical adventure. The multiple retaining walls are connected by these pathways and shape perfect planting beds.
We used natural Utah flagstones and Sierra Ginger gravel that matched each other perfectly and worked nicely with the cement and metal edging. The combination of materials is stunning.
The homeowners were overjoyed with the results of this project.
They were impressed with our creative solutions for their steep yard and very happy with Bear Landscaping & Paver's high quality work and responsiveness throughout the project.
